Delete your DiscipleTrack account
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time. Here is how, what is removed, and what your church keeps.
In the app
- Open Profile and choose Delete account.
- Read what is removed and what your church keeps, type your email address to confirm, and confirm once more.
- Deletion takes effect immediately. The app tells you when it is done and signs you out.
Deletion is blocked while you hold a Leader, Discipler, Coordinator or platform role. Ask your Coordinator to arrange a ministry handover. Coordinator changes require a platform Super Admin; a platform-role holder must contact the operator. Try deletion again after those responsibilities have ended.
If you cannot sign in
- Send an email to ddotbone1@gmail.com from the address you registered with, subject "Delete my DiscipleTrack account". You may also hand the request to your church's Coordinator.
- We will verify your identity before processing the request, for example by replying to the registered address. If someone asks on another person's behalf, we will verify their authority to make the request. We securely document the request and the action taken. For a request concerning a minor, we will involve a parent or guardian where appropriate, without limiting any rights the minor has under applicable law. Do not send your password or verification codes.
- The app deletes an account only when its owner is signed in, so an email request does not delete the account automatically. We will reply to explain how the request will be handled, including any information that cannot be deleted and the reason for retaining it.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in credentials and sessions. The account is disabled, its email is replaced and its password is removed. You can register a new account with the same email, but that does not restore the old account.
- Your profile: name, mobile number and avatar choice.
- The text of the lesson answers you submitted, and the notes on your planned meetings.
- Your active D Group relationships are ended and scheduled meetings cancelled; their history is retained.
- The app clears lesson copies, your drafts, reading position and remembered email on the phone completing deletion, and clears its reminders on sign-out. Deletion cannot remotely erase copies on a device that remains offline.
What your church keeps, and why
Account deletion preserves ministry history rather than erasing every record:
- That a member existed in the church, their membership history and D Group history.
- Discipleship meetings recorded with you and each outcome, and the lessons marked completed.
- Audit entries of actions taken on those records.
- Follow-up and care history, and records of workbook sharing.
Your profile and linked membership are marked "Removed member", the membership is archived and unlinked, and the mobile number and avatar are cleared. Shared answer text becomes "Removed". Scheduled-meeting notes are cleared. Internal identifiers remain so historical records stay connected.
This is not complete anonymisation. Recorded-meeting notes, care notes, free-text reasons and service logs may still contain identifying information; the in-app operation does not erase them. Information is deleted or retained according to applicable legal requirements and legitimate retention needs. To ask about information that remains, contact support.
If you only want to leave a group
Ask your Leader or Coordinator. You keep your account; your place in the group is marked as ended.
